JustOff is a simple computer program that plays a little tune described in the 'Just or Equal' article.

Remember when some early microcomputers booted into Basic, ready to accept commands?  Nowadays, there are no built-in commands in Windows to generate notes directly (as opposed to playing recorded music).  But there is a free Basic interpreter that does not need to be installed, does not alter the registry, and does not run in the background:  Decimal Basic is surprisingly powerful, as shown in the many sample programs provided. It runs on Windows 95 through Vista.  And it is portable.  You could put it on a flash drive.  It won't touch anything else on your system.
Create a folder named Basic (for instance).  Download the Decimal Basic zip file (see link above), open the zip file, and copy the files into your folder.  You will see a Setup program there, but you don't need to run it if you want to leave your registry unchanged.
Download the JustOff.bas program (see link above), and save it in your Basic folder (or anywhere).
In the File menu of Decimal Basic, click Open, and open JustOff.bas.  In the Run menu, click Run (or press F9).  The program plays the tune and displays what is happening.  At the end of the tune, you’ll hear some dissonance explained in the ‘Just of Equal’ article (see link above).
