ASCIi Group
Each month, a member of the group will give a brief presentation on web sites. Some members present sites based on the same theme (for example, real estate), others tell us about sites that cover a broad range of subjects.

Google
http://www.google.com/
Usually considered the best search engine available today.
-
Google Toolbar
http://toolbar.google.com/
Kevin Svec also recommended trying the Google Toolbar (only works [worked] on Internet Explorer). While using the Google Toolbar, the words you use for a search will show as buttons to the right of the toolbar. Clicking on these buttons will search the current document for the word shown in that button.

Tom's Hardware Guide
http://www.tomshardware.com/
A site started and run by Thomas "Tom" Pabst, this hardware guide is an excellent resource for learning more about hardware before buying it. Tom's Hardware Guide will almost always have a review of the hardware products you're considering.

Lockergnome
http://lockergnome.com/
Lockergnome, a company run by Chris Pirillo, currently provides eight e-newsletters for free.
They use a double opt-in process that allows you to request a subscription and then confirm that you are requesting a subscription by sending you an email and requiring you to reply before your subscription will begin.
Lockergnome comes very highly recommended. Most users will probably want to subscribe to the Windows Daily newsletter.

eBay
http://ebay.com/
Ebay is an online auction site. There are protection schemes in place to avoid your getting ripped off. These schemes protect both buyer and seller. You can find almost anything you want on eBay.

The Onion
http://theonion.com/
A parody news site. Well-written, seemingly plausible news stories that are almost always good for a laugh. Note that some articles might be considered by some to be a little off-color.

MP3.com
http://mp3.com/
A website that lets you download thousands of legally-distributed, free MP3 songs. Many of the songs are excellent, performed by relatively unknown artists. Some well-known, more commercial artists are also featured.
Note that ASCIi does not condone piracy in any fashion. This includes the illegal copying or downloading of songs from the internet for which you have not already paid. As such, we proudly suggest this alternative, completely legal MP3 site.
